ABOUT OZAKI WAGYU
Phantom Wagyu Beef, otherwise known as Ozaki beef, refers to the beef from Wagyu cattle raised on one single farm that's owned and managed by Mr. Muneharu Ozaki in the Miyazaki Prefecture. Three decades of finetuning an array of life conditions result in Phantom Wagyu being arguably the best Japanese Wagyu of all time.
The name 'Phantom Wagyu' refers to the scarcity of this exclusive product. In addition, Mr. Ozaki is in fact the only farmer in Japan who is allowed to use his own name to market his beef. OS Meatshop is proud to be one of the extremely rare European distributors of this precious beef.
When preparing Phantom Wagyu, Mr. Ozaki insists on providing a rare or bleu chaud cook to maximize all flavor sensations of this beef to the fullest.
Muneharu Ozaki has been breeding Wagyu cattle for more than 30 years. Out of those, he spent 14 years breeding Miyazaki cows; Ozaki cows have existed for the past 16 years only. Mr Ozaki feeds his cattle brewers’ grain silage and a mixture of algae and seaweed to stimulate blood circulation. He also mixes powdered charcoal into his animals’ feed to absorb excess bacteria introduced by the grain-based feed.
Ozaki waits until his cows are 32–40 months old before slaughtering them – up to eight months later than his colleagues who breed Kobe cattle. This gives the animals extra time to develop the perfect marbling: the longer a Wagyu lives, the more intricately the fat veins branch through its meat. The result: incredibly tender meat with an indescribable flavour.

Japanese Ozaki beef must be prepared immediately after it is taken out of the refrigerator. The fat in this type of meat starts melting at room temperature. Cook the meat rare (at most) to preserve its pure, full flavour.

IMPORTANT: Orders made on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be prepared and sent on Monday, and you can expect delivery of these orders on Tuesday or Wednesday. The reason lies in the fact that DHL Express does not store fresh products in their warehouse over the weekend, so bear in mind that you certainly order on Tuesday at the latest if you want to enjoy our products during the upcoming weekend!
Orders placed on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday are expected to be delivered within 2 working days after ordering. Keep holidays in mind while calculating your delivery time, couriers do not work on certain holidays which can cause small delays.
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an automated notification with your delivery tracking code and estimated time of arrival.
Might you expect not be present at the estimated time of delivery, you can choose in your DHL tracking tool to change the address of delivery or the option for the courier to have it delivered at your neighbor, reception or security desk.
DELIVERY TIMES IN VERY REMOTE AREA'S
Our partner DHL Express is the fastest shipping carrier of Europe. However, should you reside in a very remote area (such as an island or a village very far away from your countries' capitol or another big city), please take into consideration that shipping could take 1 to 2 days longer than normal. If you want to be 100% sure to have your order arrived before the weekend, we advise to place your order on Monday. We do stress the fact that this situation is rather extraordinary, and we provide the fastest shipping available in Europe.
ORDERING FRESH PRODUCTS
Your meat is delivered in thermo-insulated packaging and our delivery service ensures that it reaches you in the best possible condition.
The cost price for air shipping your package is 25€ for all other EU countries. Cost is per order and accounts for one or multiple steaks. Orders over €175 are sent with free delivery.
Your meat stays fresh when left in unopened vacuum bag for up to 2 weeks (expiry date is on the package) and once opened, it should be consumed best within 2-3 days.
Due to delicate nature of our products, it is essential that someone is available to collect the delivery and to place the package in a fridge as soon as possible.
Please keep this in mind when you book your delivery and provide a phone number and preferably a second one in case you miss the call so our couriers can get in touch with you. If the delivery is left on doorsteps without collection, we cannot be held responsible for any damage done to the product.
