Sint-Truiden Chef Ben Elen Wins Horeca-Award

SINT-TRUIDEN | Every year Horeca Expo puts products and services that are innovative for the hospitality industry in the spotlight with its 'Pioneers and Innovation Awards'. Ben Elen of the Vleesgegroet restaurant in Sint-Truiden is today named the new laureate in Ghent with his 'Uncle Ben's Premium Origine Burger'.

Ben Elen and his burger succeed catering supplier ISPC, which won the prize last year with its Himalayan salt stone. "To avoid problems with the real uncle Ben, my burger has now been renamed 'Ben's Burger' tout court", says the Sint-Truiden chef. "The burger is made with high-quality, finely ground beef of different origins and breeds, which can therefore also differ depending on the offer and the moment." His burger is flavored with a new sauce, slightly spicy, that Ben himself invented for this burger. Ben wants to conquer Flanders and even abroad with his delicacy. For example, Ben's Premium Origine Burger can already be eaten in Croatia. (FKS
